The Gown By Jennifer Robson

Very beautifully written, the research was executed very well and was woven into a timeless story down to the very last stitch of that gown.

I am one of the many people that have a fascination with “The Royals”, but what a better way to take a step further. Jennifer examines the topics surrounds one of the most stunning dresses created during a world drowned by sorrow from war and exposing the reader to the people that made it happen. As a reader & fan of the royal family, I felt it was brought to life in a well researched and respectable manner.

What I enjoyed about the book is the structure and characters that were created to bring this story to life. I feel the different points of view enriched the story that was being told and were brought together is a solid way. There was depth that was created in a book that is historical fiction and inspired by Queen Elizabeth’s wedding gown. The book was an interesting read that can be enjoyed by all types of readers.

“Millions will welcome this joyous event as a flash of color on the long road we have to travel.”—Sir Winston Churchill on the news of Princess Elizabeth’s forthcoming wedding”— Quoted from Goodreads.
